Coffee Storage Myths You Should Stop Believing

Coffee Storage Myths You Should Stop Believing

Coffee advice is everywhere. Not all of it is accurate.

Myth 1: Refrigeration Helps

Usually false. Refrigerators contain moisture and odors that coffee absorbs readily. Unless you have a sealed, airtight container, the fridge does more harm than good.

Myth 2: Coffee Lasts Forever

Also false. While coffee doesn’t become dangerous, it does become stale. Flavor degrades significantly within weeks of roasting.

Myth 3: Any Container Works

Airtight storage matters. The original bag with a one-way valve is better than most kitchen containers. If you transfer, choose something truly airtight and opaque.

Final Thought

Proper storage protects great coffee. Don’t let myths ruin what you paid for.
